Oh lord don’t you let me die in this swamp

I’ve got two good legs and I wanna walk

Oh lord don’t you let me die here in this swamp

Our Lady of the Highways let me get off of this black top

Oh lord don’t let my last breath be this filthy air

There’s a girl who’s waiting for me wanna kiss her everywhere

Oh lord don’t let my last breath be this filthy air

Our Lady of the Highways let me get away from here

Our Lady of the Highways

Our Lady of the high

Our Lady of the Highways

Our Lady of the high

Shine a light down on me and bless this car I drive

Our Lady of the Highways

Our Lady of the high

Shine a light down on me and bless this car I drive

Well things are looking better since I got off of this road

I don’t know where I’m going but I’m still on the go

I don’t know where I’m going but I’m still on the go

Our Lady of the Highways please don’t make the traffic so slow

Our Lady of the Highways

Our Lady of the high

Our Lady of the Highways

Our Lady of the high

Shine a light down on me and bless this car I drive

Our Lady of the Highways

Our Lady of the high

Shine a light down on me and bless this car I drive

I'm on route and I’m on time

Your forgiveness will soon be mine

One of these mornings I'll make you proud

Oh my stars

Don’t cross me now

A yellow jacket comes to stop

On my bottle of soda pop

Crawls down the neck

And won't come out

Oh my stars

Don’t cross me now

I've been dreaming

About where I'll go

and it's a place

I can't wait to know

The morning papers

they scream and shout

Oh my stars

Don’t cross me now

A song from a musical I didn't finish about Lev Thermin, the Russian inventor responsible for the Etherphone/Thermin. Lev lived in NYC in the thirties, but was kidnapped by the KGB, brought back to Russia, and forced to spend the rest of his life designing weapons for the soviets.  His muse in New York was Clara Rockmore, one of the few virtuoso players of his instrument. In the musical, Lev sings this song to Clara after hearing her play the Thermin for the first time.

Audio available soon:

There are songs in the air, sweet Clara

They're waiting for you

To wave you hands through

There are songs in the sky, sweet Clara

They're waiting for you

To give them their start

So dip your fingers into the ether

And let them drip over my heart

There are songs in the sky, sweet Clara

They're waiting for you

They're waiting for you

There are songs in the sky, sweet Clara

They're waiting for you

To set them apart

So dip your fingers into the ether

And let them drip over my heart
