I’m gonna leave my baby in the snow I’m gonna leave her there all alone

She’s got some tired bones She’s got some tired bones She’s got some tired, tired bones

I’m gonna leave my baby in the snow I’m gonna leave her there where you won’t ever know

She’s got some tired bones She’s got some tired bones She’s got some tired, tired bones

She’s got some tired bones She’s got some tired bones She’s got some tired, tired bones

And she’s walking a long long mile You know she needs to sit down for a while

I’m gonna leave my baby in the snow Gonna leave her there all alone I’m gonna leave her then go back home

She’s got some tired bones She’s got some tired bones She’s got some tired, tired bones

I like sloppy home recording of this one. The vibe is relaxed, and Sarah's violin sounds great.

*Interesting side note: punk rock icon Yula Berri rehearsed with us once on bass and dug this song because she thought the lyrics were "bring back your mamma on a chain."

Go buy a quart of milk and bring back your mamma all the change Go buy a quart of milk and bring back your mamma all the change But I like those shoes and I like that hat And I wanna dress my baby up in something like that

Go buy a dozen eggs and bring back your mamma all the change Go buy a dozen eggs and bring back your mamma all the change But I wanna take my baby out tonight And I wanna dress her up all expensive like

When robins build their nests They build their nests with colored plastic And with bright, bright colored string When robins build their nests They build their nests with anything Well there’s a jar full of pennies that I keep under my bed So I’ll go buy a loaf of bread and won’t stop along the way And I’ll bring back my mamma all the change

Beautiful vocal track by Allison. One of Roy's best guitar solos. My solo version has some additional lyrics and a vocal track that's significantly less beautiful than Allison's.

Blue 88's version:

I’ve spent too long with my head down I’ve spent too long staring at the floor I shouldn’t call you anymore

I’m in someone else’s place I’ve just been keeping his seat warm I shouldn’t call you anymore.

I know I’m calling and it’s much too late But I just wanna make sure that you’re safe

I’ve spent too long with my head down I’ve spent too long staring at the floor I shouldn’t call you anymore

Ben's solo version:

I’ve spent too long with my head down

I’ve spent too long staring at the floor

Now there are food on the table

And shoes by the door

I shouldn’t call you anymore

I’m in someone else’s place

I’ve just been keeping his seat warm

Now the jury is certain

But the lawyers aren’t sure

I shouldn’t call you anymore

You can take all these troubles and drown them in wine

And enemy of that business is a friend of mine

I’ve spent too long with my head down

I’ve spent too long staring at the floor

Maybe I'll head out and go to the store

I shouldn’t call you anymore
