I took you for someone

who would cry through the night

And rise in the morning and curse the first light

And I took you for someone

Who was far out and gone

But baby I got you all wrong

Well I took you for someone

who didn't know what was what

Who’d break down when the first sign of trouble came up

But you came out swinging

And you came out strong

And baby I got you all wrong

Baby I got you all wrong

Well I got you all wrong

You’re your own kind of gifted

And when you come ‘round here my spirit gets lifted

I took you for a dream that would die with the dawn

But baby I got you all wrong

Well I took you for someone

who would stare at the clock

Who’d want time to speed up but also to stop

But your days they’re all filled up with good friends and songs

Baby I got you all wrong

Baby I got you all wrong

Well I got you all wrong

You’re sweet and you’re quick

And when you bring that love ‘round here

I’m crazy for it

Now I want you come back and I hope it’s not long

Cause baby I got you all wrong

Baby I got you all wrong

Baby I got you all wrong

One day Mr. Frog came over

He asked for Mrs. Mouse's hand

It might not have been one of her better days

But she never asked for much in this land

He said "I’m gonna be your goode goode mann."

He took her by the rocks of Dover

He threw himself upon the sand

She would've been fine with some flowers

She would've been fine with a tan

But she said "hey, that’s my goode goode mann"

And we’ll watch those ripples turn into the waves

All we'll watch the daylight turn into the dark

There was a man who was a man and there was a man who didn’t make it all the way

And above them both was the same sky full of stars

Mouse came home from market

She found her Frogie drunk

He said "I guess I was thinking about the days gone by

And all the days still yet to come."

And she said "I understand"

You’re still my goode goode mann

You’re still my goode goode mann

Who’s gonna teach the Christians the teachings of Jesus Christ?

They think they got it figured out but they ain’t got it right

They turn away from all their neighbors and steal from the poor

They put up walls along their borders and locks on all their doors

The way they act is such a sorry sight

Who’s gonna teach the Christians the teachings of Jesus Christ?

Who’s gonna teach the Christians the teachings of Jesus Christ?

They think the world is simple, they see it all in black and white

And they’re quick to pass their judgments about who is free to love

But if they knew what's what they’d know it’s not for them to judge

And then they want to go and start a fight?

Who’s gonna teach the Christians the teachings of Jesus Christ?

Who’s gonna teach the Christians the teachings of Jesus Christ?

They’ve got the riches of world and keep them locked up tight

And they teach their children hatred, and they teach their children fear

And they leave this world polluted because they think salvation is near

But we’re all on the same road home tonight

So it’s time to teach the Christians the teachings of Jesus Christ?
